Our Story

Pottery is one of the most historic forms of making handicrafts. It is said that the true origins of clay work and pottery were initiated when water was carried in woven baskets lined with river clay. The prime origins of this art-form lie in the integral ingredient, which is clay. Clay is found in the ground, in areas where rivers, streams, of canals once flowed. As mentioned before, clay pottery is one of the most ancient art forms that exist today. However, why do we refer to them as the last generation of artisans? This is because most artisans involved in this craft have stayed true to the original mechanisms of how this art form works, for example using manual instead of the widely available electric pottery wheels. Most artisans in Pakistan are still using traditional methodologies of collecting clay of their choice themselves and then later using their own small set ups to create beautiful clay-works that can be seen all over the country.
